Karlee began dancing at the age of 3, and has been teaching at JLD for over 10 years.

She began dancing at Bathurst School of Performing Arts, which was later bought by Jessica Turnbull. This is when JLD was born, in which Karlee continued to train as a student, and then working as a teacher.  Under this training, Karlee has completed examinations (RAD, ADA (formerly FATD)), and competed in eisteddfods as a soloist and group dancer.  Throughout this time, Karlee was also personally trained by Glenn Wood (Glenn Wood Tap), as a solo and exam student, and was invited by Glenn to be part of his performance troupe. She has performed in local productions and performances, as well as larger productions such as ‘School Spectacular’ as part of her school dance groups and the state selected Tap Ensemble. Karlee has also performed in 3 of the 4 JLD USA Tours, and as a teacher and choreographer for the 4th.

At the age of 16, Karlee successfully auditioned for Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, where she moved to Sydney on her own to complete her Year 11 and 12 schooling. She was lucky enough to not only study Dance, but also Classical Ballet as a HSC subject. During this time, Karlee prepared and completed major RAD ballet examinations under Hilary Kaplan at Alegria Dance Studios.

After finishing school, Karlee moved back to Bathurst and began her focus on her career in dance teaching.  She completed her ADA teaching exams, as well as her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. Karlee also is a certified Barre Attack instructor, and completed her Diploma in Early Childhood, with 8 years of experience in this field.
